We typically respond within 24 hours. Including your source board's column setup makes answers fast.

How BoardAlign works

  1. Open the view on your source board — the board others should match (board tabs → + → Apps → BoardAlign).
  2. Pick the boards to check. The picker remembers your selection per source board and shows when each board was last checked.
  3. Check differences. One check reads every picked board's structure and lists each difference. Nothing is written during a check.
  4. Choose, preview, apply. Select the fixes you want, preview the exact changes, and apply. Progress runs live, board by board.
  5. Re-check. A clean re-check shows "Everything matches". Boards change — re-check any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does it check?

Columns (presence, title, description, position), status and dropdown labels (presence, color, order), and groups (presence, name, color, order) — compared against your source board. Item data is never read or changed.

Will it ever touch the items on my boards?

No. The app reads and writes board structure only. It never reads, creates, changes, or deletes items or their values.

Can it delete anything?

No. Delete, archive, and type-change operations don't exist in the app — by design. Extra columns or groups on a target board are reported with numbered steps so you decide what happens to them in monday.

What does "mark as intentional" mean?

Some differences are on purpose — a client board with an extra column, a renamed group. Mark such a difference intentional from its row's ⋯ menu: it leaves the report (select-all can never touch it) and moves to a reversible "Intentional differences" section. "Report again" brings it back. Marks are remembered per board.

Why do some differences need fixing by hand?

Three reasons. Removing extras would delete data, and the app contains no delete operation. monday's API doesn't allow changing a column's type — for any app. And monday keeps automations, views, and permissions closed to every marketplace app. In each case the app gives you clear, numbered steps instead of pretending.

The view says it can't load data for my account.

monday viewer seats have no API access, so BoardAlign can't read boards for viewer accounts. Open the view from an editor seat to run checks.

What data does the app store, and where?

Only its configuration — your board selections, intentional marks, and internal column bookkeeping — inside monday's own app storage on your account. Nothing leaves the monday platform. See the Privacy Policy.
