Effective date: August 22, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the English Shadowing mobile application ("the App"), developed and operated by Aleksandrs Visnakovs ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The App provides English speaking practice through short native-speaker audio lines, repeat-and-record exercises, playback comparison, practice progress, reminders, and streaks. It is intended for personal educational use.
You are responsible for using the App safely and lawfully. Do not use it while driving or in another situation where listening, reading, or recording would create a distraction or risk.
Small Talk practice and other features identified as free in the App can be used without a subscription. Premium unlocks the additional situation tracks and unlimited practice with completed lines.
Features may change as the App develops. A current description of what a purchase unlocks is shown before you buy.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and Premium remains available until then.
Use Restore Purchases in the App to recover an eligible purchase. Apple processes all payments and refund requests. Request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Microphone access is optional. When enabled, the App temporarily records your voice so it can play your take back next to the native-speaker line. Recordings remain on your device, are never uploaded, and are not kept as a voice history. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The App is a practice tool, not a language school, examination provider, speech therapist, or professional advisory service. We do not guarantee a particular level of fluency, pronunciation, examination score, employment result, or other outcome.
IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP IELTS, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The App is not affiliated with, approved by, or endorsed by them or by any IELTS test administrator.
You may not:
The App's software, design, written practice lines, audio, graphics, and branding belong to us or are used under licence. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for its intended purpose.
We aim to keep the App available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may fix, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. We are not required to operate the App indefinitely.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the App. Our total liability for a claim related to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for it during the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
Your licence to use the App is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA on a matter within Apple's scope, Apple's EULA controls.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Latvia have jurisdiction except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may update these Terms when the App or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
